A Sense of Community
There is a strong tradition of community spirit in Hambleton and the children are encouraged to care for others and engage in a number of community events. This helps the children to understand more about the area they live in and enables them to make a positive contribution to the community. Activities at school and within the village encompass all year groups with a particular emphasis in Year 6 when our Young Leaders further develop their personal communication and enterprise skills in the community.
Each year the children take part in a number of activities in conjunction with St Mary’s, these include an Easter production, Carol Service and Harvest Celebration. At Christmas time the school choir carol sing for the residents at the local Nursing Home and elsewhere in the community. Each summer the school is actively involved in other events such as our Summer Fayre and the school has a strong and active parent and community group that raise funds on behalf of the school. We are very grateful for all the hard work the Friends of Hambleton School do to support the school.
Hambleton offers a range of after school activities covering everything from gymnastics to Spanish, and the school facilities are also used by to provide extra-curricular activities such as Rainbows and Brownies providing many opportunities for children outside of usual school hours.
