Young Voices
On Monday 9 February, children from ‘Vibrant Voices’ Choir travelled to the Utilita Arena in Sheffield to take part in the 2026 Young Voices concert, along with 1000s of other school children, to form one huge choir. A massive well done to all the children that took part. The children were a credit to Hambleton Primary School and absolutely sang their hearts out. A special well done to the Year 3’s who went for the first time after feeling a bit nervous about going, but they loved it and sang beautifully and danced all night! All of the practising certainly paid off. I would like to thank the staff who facilitated the visit – Mrs Fogg, Mrs Savage & Miss Lawrence – it was a very late night and I appreciate you giving up your time.

We are delighted to announce that Hambleton has achieved the renewal of Gold Healthy Schools Award.
To achieve the award, we have had to gather evidence from a wide range of subjects including PE, Science, PSHE and pupil wellbeing. We are very pleased that the award acknowledges our children’s fantastic learning and progress in these areas. Thank you to Mrs Fogg for her hard work on evidencing the award.

Welcome Back! We hope that you and your families have had a fantastic Christmas break, it has been great to have the children back in school and they have cracked on brilliantly with their Spring Term learning!

Cross Country Stars!

Around 40 of our Key Stage Two children attended a Selby Area Cross Country Race at Selby High School this week. This was a tough event, with the children expected to run long distances, each year group running longer distances than the previous one! The children were fantastically resilient, supporting each other exceptionally well and the pictured children were all top-three medallists for their age groups!

Very well done to the children and our thanks to Mrs Morris, Mrs Bourke and Mrs Hudson-Muscroft for taking the team.

Little Owls Nativity & KS1 ‘This Way to Bethlehem’

We were very proud of our Little Owls performing their first Nativity last week. We have received lovely feedback from parents, grandparents and carers and the children really enjoyed performing on the stage. KS1 also put on a wonderful performance at the Church this week for their Christmas Nativity. It is always amazing to see the children enjoying their time in the limelight.

Phone Calls/Emails

24th October 2025

We have had another busy and exciting week in school. The children have shown how compassionate they are towards each other and how resilient they are in their learning. The children enjoyed the events and activities that took place as part of our ‘Inclusion Day’, which ranged from ‘Wonder Kindness Poems’ to the creation of ‘Incredible Me Dream Jars.’ The children enjoyed meeting their new ‘Well-being Champions’ this week during Collective worship. The role of the ‘Well-being Champions’ is to promote positive mental health and happy friendships in a supportive environment.

The Staff Team
At the end of this term we will be saying goodbye to teaching assistant Tina Fawcett. She is progressing her career with a move to a local secondary school. In the four years she has worked at the school Mrs Fawcett has worked in every year group and she has had a fantastic impact on the wellbeing and happiness of our children. We wish her the very best with her exciting new role! Subject to the usual checks, we have appointed a new member of the team and we will introduce you to them in due course.

Mrs Wrigley will be serving Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding with Roast Potatoes and a Victoria Sponge Muffin for pudding. On this day, there will also be a Vegetarian option or Jacket Potato available. Please note that there will be no Sandwiches made.

We hope as many children as possible will take up this meal for Census Day

Thank you to everyone who has helped to make our first week back at school a
success. The staff team have been so impressed at how smoothly the children
have settled in. A special ‘well done’ goes to our new starters who seem already
as if they have been at school for weeks!

It has been lovely to see all the smiling faces returning to school – both children
and parents/carers! It is wonderful to have the school buzzing with life once
again.
