Special Educational Needs (SEND)

At Hambleton Church of England Primary School we aim to give all children equal access to teaching and learning. We aim to plan for continuity and progression at our school and upon transfer to secondary education. We recognise the entitlement of all pupils to a broad and balanced curriculum. Our SEND policy reinforces the need for teaching that is fully inclusive. The Governing Body will ensure that appropriate provision will be made for all pupils with SEND.

SEND – Local Offer

All North Yorkshire maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND.)   They are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, whatever their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school.   The Local Authority publishes its Local Offer which provides information for children and young people with special educational needs (SEND) and their parents or carers in a single place.

The School SEND information report outlines what we can offer your child so that they can have equal access to the curriculum and make progress in their learning.
